I realized my interest in Architecture while in college. I decided that I wanted to learn hands-on how to build before beginning a Master's program in Architecture.

I spent three years apprenticing with furniture builders and residential builders before starting my own design/build company. My first construction experience was with Stoneline Designs in North Carolina building hardwood tables with slate and granite tops. My apprenticeship in construction was largely with Dovetail, Inc in Seattle. I began working independently in 1992.
